Abstract
A Agenda ONU 2030 para a Sustentabilidade reconhece o papel central da ciência, tecnologia e inovação para responder aos desafios globais. O Centro de Geociências da Universidade de Coimbra (CGEO), criado em 1975, apresenta um projeto para 2018-22 com as seguintes diretrizes estratégicas: reforçar a presença no espaço europeu de investigação através da excelência em investigação e ensino, da intensificação de ligações com a sociedade e ambiente circundante e da promoção de uma gestão racional, responsável e minuciosa dos recursos. É articulado em 3 clusters de pesquisa: Energia Fóssil e Desenvolvimento Sustentável; Geotecnologia; Quaternário, adaptações humanas e gestão do território.
