Mapping of Health Sciences Research and Funding: Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe (MAPIS PALOP) : General Report

Abstract

MAPIS analyses the evolution in the international health science outputs in the PALOPs between 2008 and 2020, the collaborative networks and the sources of financing leveraged for the scientific production. This study presents the first map of research activities undertaken by the science and medical communities focused on the PALOPs and holds the objective of strengthening the visibility of these initiatives and the existing research capacities, highlighting the contribution made to the social and economic progress of these countries while also not only identifying the main financiers and scientific leaders in this field but also returning a broader perspective on the future prospects for supporting research in these countries.
