A intervenção precoce no autismo e trissomia 21 : orientações para boas práticas de intervenção

Abstract

A intervenção precoce na infância é um tema actual, que tem vindo a receber uma maior atenção em Portugal nos últimos anos, tendo-se acentuado com a publicação do Decreto-Lei 281/2009, a 6 de Outubro de 2009. O seu objectivo é procurar reduzir ao máximo os efeitos dos factores de risco ou da deficiência existentes, no desenvolvimento da criança, assentando no pressuposto de que quanto mais precocemente forem accionadas as intervenções, mais longe se pode ir na atenuação das limitações funcionais de origem. Com este trabalho pretende-se contribuir para reforçar a ideia da relevância da intervenção precoce na infância, mais concretamente em duas condições específicas - autismo e trissomia 21, procurando dar a conhecer as práticas de intervenção que têm mostrado ser as mais indicadas para a evolução positiva das crianças nestas condições, e das suas famílias.

Early childhood intervention is a current theme that has been receiving more attention in Portugal over the last few years, which has accentuated with the publishing of the Decree-Law 281/2009, on October 6th, 2009. The purpose of early intervention is to try to maximally reduce the effect of risk factors or disabilities existing in the development of the child, and it is based on the presupposition that sooner the intervention starts, further is possible to go attenuating the original functional limitations. With this work we intend to give some contribution reinforcing the idea of the relevance of early childhood intervention, more specifically in two conditions – autism and trisomy 21, trying to transmit the intervention practices that have proven to be the more indicated for the positive development of the children with these conditions, and their families.
