O Pensamento Hermenêutico de Miguel Baptista Pereira. Entre a Originalidade e a Novidade.

Abstract

O presente estudo visa tratar o pensamento hermenêutico de Miguel Baptista Pereira (1929-2007). Para tanto, a nossa investigação centra-se essencialmente nos seus escritos sobre temas de Fenomenologia e Hermenêutica Filosófica, abarcando aproximadamente um período de trinta anos de produção filosófica (1974-2004).Num primeiro momento definiremos os pilares que sustentam o pensamento do filósofo, cuja tese fundamental assenta no seguinte: sem conflito interpretativo que rejeite o saber absoluto, extingue-se o exercício filosófico e, em última instância, toda a atividade do pensar, premissa fundamental de qualquer aprendizagem. Motivado pela questão do sentido e sua respetiva historicidade como derradeira pergunta filosófica, esclarecer-se-á o que entende pelos conceitos de “originalidade” e “novidade” e de que forma eles expressam as duas grandes raízes do pensamento ocidental, a saber, a experiência grega da physis e a experiência bíblica de tempo.Em seguida, exploraremos as suas reflexões em torno do ensino e do conceito de universidade. Crítico de um modelo pedagógico marcado pela repetição neutra de ideias colhidas em segunda mão e desprovido de questionamento, estabelece uma distinção entre aquilo que chama de “fonte origem” e “fonte documental”, relembrando o problema fundamental do sentido e a sua estrutura profundamente temporal.Por fim, o terceiro momento será dedicado à relação de semelhanças e diferenças entre o caráter poético e o caráter reflexivo da experiência humana. Sob o signo da interdisciplinaridade, procura-se um encontro com a experiência literária e poética, desvelando as fontes não filosóficas que a própria filosofia oculta. Para tanto, a revisitação do horizonte mítico-simbólico e da narração no seio de uma hermenêutica da condição humana fazem-se necessários, novamente a partir das duas grandes heranças ocidentais, a grega e a bíblica. Partindo da análise do conceito do “trágico”, o autor proporá um encontro entre o drama trágico e a narração bíblica, daqui surgindo uma outra categoria: o “trágico cristão”.

The current study aims to discuss the hermeneutic thought of Miguel Baptista Pereira (1929-2007). For this purpose, our investigation is mainly focused on his writings on phenomenology and philosophical hermeneutics, encompassing a period of aproximately thirty years (1974-2004) of philosophical work.At first, we’ll describe the guidelines sustaining the philosopher's thought, whose fundamental thesis is established on the following: without interpretative conflict rejecting absolute knowledge the philosophical exercise is extinct, and ultimately so is all the exercise of thinking, a primal source of learning. Driven by the problem of meaning and it's historicity as the ultimate philosophical question, we will clarify on his understanding of the concepts of “originality” and “novelty”, and how they express the two main roots of the western civilization, namely, the greek experience of physis and the biblical experience of time.Hereupon, we'll explore his reflections concerning education and the concept of university. Critic of a pedagogical framework based on neutral repetition of second-hand ideas and devoid of questioning, he draws a distinction between what is refered to as “original source” and “documental source”, evoking the key problem of meaning and its deeply temporal structure.The final moment will be dedicated to the similarities and divergences between the poetic dimension and the reflexive nature of human experience. In the name of interdisciplinarity a rendezvous with literary and poetic experience is sought, unveiling the non-philosophical sources behind philosophy.Thereby, the return to both a mythical-symbolic and narrative horizon within the hermeneutics of human condition are necessary, once again drawing from the bipolar western heritage. Starting from the conceptual analysis of the “tragic”, the author will propose a meeting between tragic drama and biblical narrative, giving rise to a new category: the “tragic christian”.
