This paper develops a debate in the light of the latest developments in technologies such as genetic engineering, molecular nanotechnology, cryonics and artificial intelligence, exploring the support to the idea of the human come to exceed his physical and mental limits. Starting with the first works on the evolution of the specie, the text calls into question different authors of today and discusses the recent applications of these technologies.
