Relatório de Estágio-Mestrado em Análises Clínicas

Abstract

Clinical analysis is one of the fundamental tools in the screening, diagnosis and monitoring of patients. The main purpose of this internship report, which is an integral part of the Master's Degree in Clinical Analysis at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FFUC), is to describe the activities developed during the internship at the clinical analysis laboratory AVELAB.The internship in the AVELAB clinical analysis laboratory began on January 4, 2021 and ended on June 30, 2021. During the 6 months, I was integrated in the several clinical valences in this laboratory, lasting 1 month in each one, under the orientation of Dr. António Ferreira Neves. I had the opportunity to work alongside very experienced and competent professionals and to apply my knowledge to the practice of daily realityIn structural terms, the report includes a brief characterization of the AVELAB medical laboratory of clinical analysis with a description of the theoretical and practical learning obtained throughout the internship period in the different sectors (Clinical Biochemistry, Immunochemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology) with a more detailed description of the work developed in the sectors of Biochemistry and Hematology. The Clinical Analysis area is in constant evolution with the updating of new techniques and methodologies to its routine, contributing to a greater accuracy in the results used in the diagnosis, prognosis, therapy and prevention of diseases.This allows a better follow-up of the evolution of pathologies.

As análises clínicas são uma das ferramentas fundamentais no rastreio, diagnóstico e monitorização dos pacientes. O principal propósito deste relatório de estágio, que constitui uma parte integrante do Mestrado em Análises Clínicas da Faculdade de Farmácia da Universidade de Coimbra (FFUC), é a descrição das atividades desenvolvidas durante o estágio curricular no laboratório de análises clínicas AVELAB.O estágio no laboratório de análises clínicas AVELAB iniciou-se a 4 de Janeiro de 2021 e terminou a 30 de Junho de 2021. Durante os 6 meses, fui integrada nas diversas valências clínicas abordadas no presente laboratório, com a duração de 1 mês em cada uma, sob a orientação do Dr. António Ferreira Neves. Tive a oportunidade de trabalhar a par com profissionais muito experientes e competentes e de aplicar o meu conhecimento à prática da realidade quotidiana. Em termos estruturais, o relatório inclui uma breve caracterização do laboratório médico de análises clínicas AVELAB com a descrição da aprendizagem teórica e prática obtida durante todo o período de estágio nos diferentes setores (Bioquímica Clínica, Imunoquímica, Hematologia, Coagulação, Microbiologia) com uma descrição mais pormenorizada do trabalho desenvolvido nos setores de Bioquímica e Hematologia. A área das Análises Clinicas está em constante evolução com a atualização de novas técnicas e metodologias à sua rotina, contribuindo para um maior rigor nos resultados utilizados no diagnóstico, prognóstico, terapêutica e prevenção de doenças.
