sexual positiva. O principal objectivo é demonstrar a multiplicidade biológica e cultural do
sexo. There is a reciprocal influence between biology and culture: the body being the place where cultural meanings are inscribed, it affects these meanings while also being affected by them. Although biology is witness to the complexity of the human body, which surpasses by far the simplistic ideological formula of the two sexes, most societies, aiming at the preservation of its normative binary sexual system, do not recognize intersex as one more sexual variation but classifies it as a pathological deformation. By bringing together biology, philosophy, feminist theory and queer theory, this dissertation proposes reflection on intersexuality as essential for deconstructing the binary system and allowing for the recognition of a positive sexual variation. The main objective is to demonstrate the biological and cultural multiplicity of sex. Sex is not one. One does not have one sex, one is many sexes. |
