"Intervenção Precoce na Infância - Modelos Teóricos Atuais"

Abstract

A Intervenção Precoce na Infância tem evoluído, ao longo dos anos. As suas práticas começaram por se focar apenas nas crianças dos zero aos seis anos de idade. Atualmente, o seu público-alvo são essas mesmas crianças, incluindo também as respetivas famílias e comunidades, tendo como base de aprendizagem e desenvolvimento as suas rotinas. Assim sendo, é necessário reformular os métodos de intervenção e o papel que os profissionais da área necessitam de adquirir, pois este também sofre múltiplas alterações, de forma a adequar-se às famílias e às suas rotinas. Desta forma, passa-se de uma intervenção precoce na infância centrada na criança para uma intervenção precoce na infância centrada na família, baseada nas rotinas, incluindo o meio social e os três ministérios predominantes da intervenção − Educação, Saúde e Segurança Social −, dando assim origem às Equipas Locais de Intervenção transdisciplinares. Deste modo, este estudo tem como objetivo analisar se a Equipa Local de Intervenção do Centro de Saúde de Trancoso tem posto em prática as novas mudanças do modelo centrado na família e, consequentemente, perceber se as famílias necessitadas de intervenção são parte integrante da Equipa e a sua satisfação quanto ao serviço. Assim, o estudo conta com uma abordagem mista, através da aplicação de questionários, tanto aos profissionais da ELI como às famílias integradas. Tal permitiu verificar que a maioria dos profissionais desta ELI é dotada de formações em IPI, as quais possibilitam uma melhor ação perante os problemas existentes. Foi mencionado, através das questões abertas, que esta mudança de modelo não tem sido leve, sendo preciso ainda muito trabalho em relação ao novo papel dos profissionais. Em relação às famílias, verifica-se que estas possuem uma participação ativa, desde a elaboração do programa de intervenção até à sua execução, trazendo benefícios para o desenvolvimento da criança. Apesar da integração na Equipa e da satisfação, de um modo geral, em relação ao serviço da mesma, algumas famílias referem a necessidade de recorrer a outros serviços fora da ELI, em termos de profissionais ligados a problemas com a linguagem, devido ao elevado número de casos deste tipo pelos quais a ELI do Centro de Saúde de Trancoso é responsável.

Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) has evolved over the years. Their practices began by focusing only on children from zero to six years of age. Currently, its target audience is these children, including their families and communities, learning and developing their routines. Therefore, it is necessary to redefine the methods of intervention and the role that the professionals of the area need to achieve, since this also suffers multiple changes, in a way that it may suit families and their routines. Thus, we pass from a early childhood intervention focused on the child to early childhood intervention focused on their families, including the social environment and the three predominant ministries of intervention – Education, Health, and Social Security -, therefore giving birth to the transdisciplinary Local Intervention Teams (LIT). So, this study aims to analyze whether the Local Intervention Team of Trancoso Health Center has implemented the new changes in the family-centered model and, consequently, to see if families in need of intervention are an integral part of the Team and your satisfaction with the service. Therefora, the study has a mixed approach, through the application of questionnaires, both to LIT professionals and to integrated families. This allowed to verify that the majority of the professionals of this LIT is endowed with formations in ECI, which make possible a better action before the existing problems. It was mentioned, through the open questions, that this change of model has not been light, and much work still needs to be done in relation to the new role of the professionals. In relation to the families, it is verified that these have an active participation, from the elaboration of the intervention program until its execution, bringing benefits to the development of the child. Despite the integration in the Team and the overall satisfaction with the service, some families refer to the need to use other services outside LIT in terms of professionals related to language problems due to the high number of cases of this type for which the LIT of Trancoso Health Center is responsible.
