O Caso do Mercado Municipal D. Pedro V - Problematizar, Mapear e Intervir

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo caracterizar o estado atual do Mercado Municipal D. Pedro V, bem como refletir sobre os desígnios futuros previstos para o mesmo. Procura analisar o edifício e o contexto envolvente com a finalidade de equacionar diferentes perspetivas de intervenção.Apresenta uma evolução histórica e urbana do equipamento na cidade, auscultando simultaneamente a relação entre o mercado e o núcleo urbano definido pela Baixa de Coimbra. Neste sentido, é iniciado um processo de Mapeamento que se desdobra em duas fases: 1. Análise Cruzada e 2. Análise Sensível, cujo objetivo é estudar a espacialidade do mercado e a sua conjuntura socioeconómica. Na etapa conclusiva é elaborada uma reflexão crítica acerca da situação do mercado, problematizando o projeto de Refuncionalização proposto pela autarquia, em paralelo com os resultados do mapeamento empreendido. This thesis aims to analysing the current state of the Municipal Market Hall D. Pedro V, as well as reflecte on the future designs foreseen for it. The intention of this study is to analize the building and its surroundings, in order to equate different prespectives of intervention.It presents a historical and urban evolution of the equipment in the city, focusing on the relationship between the market and the urban core defined by Baixa de Coimbra. In this sense, a Mapping process is initiated that unfolds in two phases: 1. Cross Analysis and 2. Sensitive Analysis, whose objective is to study the spatiality of the market and its socioeconomic conjuncture.In the final part, a critical reflection about the market situation is elaborated, problematizing the Refunctionalization project proposed by the municipality, in parallel with the results of the mapping undertaken.
