Abstract

Contributos da Doutrina Social da Igreja para a formulação de políticas públicas. Resumo Executivo. Este estudo apresenta contributos da Doutrina Social da Igreja para a formulação de políticas públicas. Em primeiro lugar, afere-se a importância atual dos princípios da Doutrina Social da Igreja e valores fundamentais da vida social, com base na perceção dos utentes do Hospital Arcebispo João Crisóstomo e de cinco Instituições Particulares de Solidariedade Social, aplicando-se como procedimento metodológico um inquérito por questionário. Em segundo lugar, aferido o alto nível de concordância que a amostra manifesta em relação às variáveis em estudo, faz-se uma fundamentação jurídica para um agir à luz da Doutrina Social da Igreja no atual contexto e abordam-se objetivamente alguns contributos da Doutrina Social da Igreja no âmbito político, económico e social, concluindo-se uma efetiva cooperação em prol de uma melhor e inovadora política pública.Em terceiro lugar, apresenta-se o Bairro Vicentino de Cantanhede como um caso de inovação e parceria no setor urbanístico, entre a Igreja Católica e o Estado. Para esse efeito, relaciona-se a habitação e a reabilitação urbana com a Doutrina Social da Igreja e uma nova geração de políticas de habitação. Em seguida, faz-se uma revisão histórica sobre o Bairro Vicentino de Cantanhede, finalizando-se com a apresentação dos procedimentos e projeto em prol da reabilitação do Bairro. Contributions of the Catholic Social Teaching to the formulation of public policies. Abstract. This study presents contributions of the Catholic Social Teaching to the formulation of public policies.Firstly, it assesses the current importance of the principles of the Catholic’s Social Teaching and the fundamental values of social life, based on the perception of users of Archbishop João Crisóstomo Hospital and of five Private Social Solidarity Institutions by applying a questionnaire survey as methodological procedure.Secondly, after the analysis of the high level of agreement that the sample manifests in relation to the variables being studied, a legal reasoning for action is presented, in light of the Catholic Social Teaching in the current context. Some contributions of the Catholic Social Teaching in the political, economic and social sphere are also approached, concluding that this is a relevant cooperation for a better and innovative public policy.Thirdly, the Vincentian borough of Cantanhede is presented as a case of innovation and partnership in the urban sector between the Catholic Church and the State. To this end, the relation between housing and urban rehabilitation and the Catholic Social Teaching is put forth, as well as a new generation of housing policies. A historical review on the Vincentian borough of Cantanhede is then made. Finally, the procedures and project for the rehabilitation of the borough are presented.
