Generatividade e Confiança Interpessoal: Relações com as variáveis sociodemográficas sexo e idade

Abstract

The present investigation analyzes two very important concepts: generativity and interpersonal trust, which stood out as very important variables in order to understand the adaptation in different personal relationships. In this sense, the objective this investigation is to verify if there are differences in generative beliefs and in interpersonal trust, taking into account sociodemographic variables gender and age. The measures used in this research study were Personal Data Form, Generativity Scale Portuguese adaptation of the Loyola-LGS Generativity Scale, Portuguese adaptation of the Specific Confidence Scale for Adults and Portuguese adaptation of the Basic Psychological Needs Scale (BPNS-G). The sample is composed by 121 participants (56 men and 65 women), aged between 19 and 56 years old, this was recruited at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra and in my community, as a diverse age group is necessary.The results obtained allow us to verify that there are no statistically significant differences in generativity and interpersonal confidence taking into account the sex of the subjects, despite the fact that the female subjects present higher results in the scales of generativity and interpersonal confidence. Regarding the sociodemographic variable age, there are no statistically significant differences in generativity, while as for interpersonal trust there are statistically significant differences, with its value being lower in older subjects.

A presente investigação pretende analisar dois conceitos muito importantes a generatividade e a confiança interpessoal, que se têm destacado como variáveis bastante importantes para compreender a adaptação nas diferentes relações pessoais. Neste sentido, o objetivo desta investigação é verificar se existem diferenças nas crenças generativas e na confiança interpessoal tendo em conta as variáveis sociodemográficas sexo e idade.Para realizar esta investigação foram utilizados os seguintes instrumentos: Formulário de Dados Pessoais, Escala da Generatividade, adaptação portuguesa da Loyola Generativity Scale-LGS, a Adaptação portuguesa da Adult Specific Trust Scale e a Adaptação Portuguesa da Escala das Necessidades Psicológicas Básicas (BPNS-G). A amostra é composta por 121 participantes (56 homens e 65 mulheres), com idades entre os 19 e os 56 anos, esta foi recrutada na Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra, e na minha comunidade, visto ser necessário uma faixa etária diversificada.Os resultados obtidos permitem verificar que não existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas, na generatividade e na confiança interpessoal em função do sexo dos sujeitos, apesar de os sujeitos do sexo feminino apresentarem resultados mais elevados nas escalas da generatividade e da confiança interpessoal. Relativamente à variável sociodemográfica idade, na generatividade não se verificaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas, quanto à confiança interpessoal existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas, sendo o seu valor mais baixo nos sujeitos mais velhos.
