Caracterização geoambiental e perspectivas do ordenamento da faixa litoral do município da Baia Farta (Angola)

Abstract

Sabendo que o Município da Baía Farta possui elevado valor paisagístico, geológico e arqueológico e que tem sido palco de ocupação desde longa data, este trabalho visa uma análise dos locais passíveis de valorização patrimonial e dos riscos que podem estar associados à ocupação humana da área. A tese focada na Caracterização Geoambiental e Perspectivas de Ordenamento da Faixa litoral do Município da Baía Farta (Angola) envolveu levantamentos de campo com o fim de se inventariar locais de interesse paisagístico, principais actividades tradicionais e arqueossítios. Procedeu-se também a uma análise do espaço físico, com destaque para as características geomorfológicas e geológicas. Por outro lado, como a população dedica-se principalmente à pesca e produção de sal, enaltece-se aqui o incentivo destas actividades tradicionais, contribuindo assim para o desenvolvimento socioeconómico do município e da província através duma valorização das suas especificidades. Finalmente, procedeu-se à identificação e descrição de locais passíveis de ocorrência de riscos na região e sugerem-se medidas de prevenção e mitigação. O trabalho também apresenta uma componente de ordenamento do território, atendendo à necessidade de se pôr fim à construção sem os prévios estudos multidisciplinares para se evitar problemas ambientais futuros.

Knowing that the municipality of Baia Farta has a high heritage value in terms of landscape, geology and archaeology and has been the scene of long-standing occupation, this work aims at an analysis of the sites that deserve protection and the hazards that may be associated with its human occupation. The thesis is focused on the Geoenvironmental Characterization and Perspectives of Planning of the Coastal Strip of the Municipality of Baia Farta (Angola). It involved field surveys in order to identify locals that deserve promotion due to landscape interest, main traditional activities and archaeosites. An analysis of the landscape, with emphasis on the geomorphological and geological features was also conducted. On the other hand, as the population is mainly dedicated to fishing and salt production, we stress here an incentive to these traditional activities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the municipality and the province through a promotion of their specificities. Finally, we proceeded with an identification and description of hazard prone places in the region and suggested prevention and mitigation measures. The work also involves a planning component, given the need to prevent land use without prior multidisciplinary studies to avoid future environmental problems.
