Caraterização hidráulica de unidades do sistema aquífero quaternário de Aveiro. Estudo de um perfil localizado entre a praia da Costinha e Camarção (Figueira da Foz, Portugal)

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem como objetivo principal a caraterização hidrogeológica do perfil localizado entre a praia da Costinha e Camarção, na região a norte da Figueira da Foz (Portugal), e busca dar um contributo para o esclarecimento da hidrodinâmica entre aquíferos e para a estimação da condutividade hidráulica das unidades hidrogeológicas existentes na Orla Mesocenozóica Ocidental na região hidrográfica das Bacias Costeiras entre o Vouga e o Mondego e na área definida para o sistema aquífero Quaternário de Aveiro (O1). O trabalho dividiu-se em 3 fases: a primeira fase passou pela pesquisa e recolha de informação bibliográfica; a segunda compreendeu os reconhecimentos, a preparação do trabalho de campo e a realização de ensaios hidráulicos e a terceira e última fase completou-se com a análise e tratamento dos dados e a discussão dos resultados. A pesquisa bibliográfica efetuada para a área em estudo e para a região envolvente e os reconhecimentos de campo de natureza geológica, geomorfológica e estrutural, permitiram colher alguns dados hidrogeológicos que caraterizam o meio subterrâneo local e, em particular, o sistema aquífero Quaternário de Aveiro. Os elementos referidos foram posteriormente relacionados com informações existentes em registos de furos de pesquisa e captação de água na área em estudo e que apresentavam as devidas localizações geográficas, dimensionamento e litologias atravessadas – os mesmos que possibilitaram a realização de um perfil hidroestratigráfico interpretativo, permitindo definir os diferentes níveis aquíferos – aquífero freático (não-confinado) e aquífero semiconfinado. A informação recolhida de trabalhos realizados da área em estudo permitiu conhecer mais profundamente a hidrodinâmica local, e nomeadamente a condutividade hidráulica (K) das unidades hidrogeológicas existentes no perfil em estudo. Nesta etapa foram utilizadas técnicas de laboratório e de campo, como os slug tests e ensaios hidráulicos de recuperação de níveis após bombagem (recovery after pumping tests), permitindo a obtenção de dados de K a diversas escalas no perfil. Os resultados obtidos pelos diferentes ensaios, foram analisados através de software específico. A investigação realizada permitiu refinar a geometria do sistema aquífero do perfil da praia da Costinha, bem como perceber a hidrodinâmica do sistema aquífero e desta forma revelar a importância dos recursos hídricos subterrâneos na região de Quiaios – praia da Costinha e prever/propor intervenções e investigações futuras.

The main purpose of this work is the hydrogeological characterization of the profile located between the Costinha beach and Camarção, in the north region of Figueira da Foz. It seeks also to contribute to the enlightment of the hydrodynamics between aquifers and to estimate the hydraulic conductivity of the hydrogeological units of the aquifer system Quaternário de Aveiro (O1) in the coastal watersheds between Vouga and Mondego. The work was divided into three phases: the collection of bibliographic information; the area recognition, the preparation of the field work and the hydraulic tests; and the final phase was completed with the data analysis and the discussion of the results. The bibliographical research conducted for the study area and the surrounding region along with the geological, geomorphological and structural field work, allowed to collect some hydrogeological data that characterize the aquifer system Quaternário de Aveiro in its southern sector. Data collected were later related to the existing information on the borehole logs enabling the creation of an interpretative hydrostratigraphic profile, and the definition of different aquifers - phreatic (non-confined) and semiconfined aquifers. The information gathered allowed a deeper understanding of the local hydrodynamics, in particular the hydraulic conductivity (K) of the existing hydrogeological units in the profile under study. At this stage it were used laboratory and field techniques, such as slug tests and pumping tests with the collection of recovery period water levels, allowing the evaluation of K data at different scales in the profile. The results obtained by different tests were analyzed using specific software. The research allowed to refine the geometry of the aquifer system from the Costinha beach profile, as well as, to understand the hydrodynamics of the aquifer system and thus reveal the importance of groundwater resources in Quiaios region and to propose future interventions and investigations.
