Abstract: The book Social Innovation and Sustainable Consumption: Research and Action for Societal Change, edited by Julia Backhaus and colleagues, presents and analyzes policies, strategies and processes for societal transformation and fundamental change to meet the sustainability challenge. From an eminently institutionalist perspective, it integrates the study of social innovation, sustainable consumption and societal transformation in thirteen chapters that explore theoretical and conceptual advances in the intersection of these three domains.
